Danfoss Climate Solutions has launched a new production line for oil-free check (OFC) valves at its factory in Monterrey, Mexico, moving assembly of the valves used with Danfoss Turbocor oil-free compressors closer to North American OEM customers and shortening delivery times in the region.
The OFC valve combines a ball valve style shut-off with a check valve, reducing discharge pressure drop in Turbocor-based systems while increasing capacity and efficiency. Additional features include an integrated stop function, a damped check valve function, an integrated diffuser elbow and an integrated staging port. Twelve models will ultimately be assembled in Monterrey, in 3 1/8 inch and 4 1/8 inch steel or solder flange versions, with or without ball valves, and in regular or compact sizes.
The range follows a 2025 extension of the product line and is intended to cover different application requirements. North American assembly is aimed at increasing supply chain resilience for OEM customers that use Turbocor compressors in their chillers and heat pumps, with shorter lead times for the region and USMCA approval to be granted gradually. The step continues the regionalization of supply chains that Danfoss has set as a priority for the coming years.
The Monterrey factory doubled its capacity when the expanded site opened a year ago. Since then it has added production of scroll compressors, BOCK compressors, sensors and microchannel heat exchangers, allowing Danfoss to meet higher demand and support OEM customers in strengthening their own supply chains.
Demand for oil-free equipment has risen in recent years, particularly in the data center industry, where operators are seeking to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. Turbocor compressors eliminate oil from the design and serve commercial air conditioning and heat pump applications in office buildings, hotels, hospitals, airports and data centers, where operators face decarbonization and energy efficiency targets.
